Make the beautiful West Coast rainforest your home with us

Work for Stay at Te Nikau

  • Work

Trade 1 - 2 hours a day of light housekeeping for free accommodation. Tasks include making beds, vacuuming, cleaning the living space and bathrooms in addition to helping with laundry. The work is extremely manageable, especially when done with new friends!

  • Stay

Get comfortable in a cozy rainforest lodge and meet other like-minded travelers! Accommodation includes a bed, shared living space, full kitchen, free laundry, free wifi and television. We prioritize those who can commit to a month with us - and by the end of your stay you’ll realize that you want to stay longer! Depending on availability, we welcome those who ask for a shorter commitment.

  • Explore

Spend the rest of your time adventuring at Pancake Rocks, Te Miko Beach and the Paparoa track! Harvest mussels on the beach and then look for the penguins and glow worms at night. The Punakaiki Rocks tavern is walking distance from your temporary home and next to a kayak and paddle board rental shop. And you’ll have the time to do it all!
